Prepare your hearts for an angelic presentation by four classically trained voices, accompanied by an ensemble of piano, cello, violin, guitar, mandolin, and flute, breathing life into each harmonies melody. These eight musicians hailing from Kerrville, Bandera and San Antonio simply LOVE creating beautiful, uplifting music and look forward to sharing this night with you and yours.

MUSIC ARTIST BIOS

Elizabeth Rose

Elizabeth’s angelic voice shines brightest when singing melodies that are uplifting and inspiring and bringing glory to her Savior, Jesus Christ. Audiences around the world have enjoyed her operatic performances in Suar Angelica and The Magic Flute in Rome, Italy; a joyful rendition of The Lord’s Prayer at the Cunita Astrodome in Manila, Philippines and as part of a tour on the Sea of Galilee in Israel; and Amazing Grace in the amphitheater in Ephesus, Turkey where the Apostle Paul preached. Elizabeth has traveled to 18 countries and had the opportunity to sing, play piano and lead worship in many locations. Most recently Elizabeth played the lead role of Queen Esther in the musical For Such A Time As This at the Cailloux Theater in Kerrville, TX with her co-star, Anthony Teague cast as the King. The Christmas season is one Elizabeth embraces, while performing and leading Christmas caroling at small and large gatherings around the Texas Hill Country.

Flicka Rahn

Flicka Rahn is an internationally known vocal performer, author, teacher and published composer. As a Music Professor, she has served on the faculty at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Brandeis University in Boston, University of the Incarnate Word and the Boston Conservatory of Music. As an internationally known professional soprano, she has appeared with the Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Philharmonic, New York Wagner Society, Minnesota Grand Opera, San Antonio Opera and the Sinfonia de Queretaro, Mexico. She has traveled throughout Mexico with notable Mexican artists presenting Uniting Nations through Music. In addition to her active professional career, she is a sound therapist and workshop facilitator for the Transformational Power of Sound Workshops. Her art songs for soprano and piano have been published in the Southern Music series, Art Songs by American Women Composers. Her recently published book, The Transformational Power of Sound and Music is available from Amazon.

Timothy Birt

Timothy Birt, Tenor, hails from San Antonio, Texas and is an Adjunct Professor of Voice for San Antonio College. He is the founder of Signature Singing Voice lessons, a San Antonio based company focusing on classical vocal techniques for use in all genres of music. In August Mr Birt made his debut for Opera San Antonio as Malcom in Verdi's Macbeth. Other recent performances include 2016 Monostatos in The Land of the Magic Flute with the Soli Chamber Orchestra, Pedrillo/Spock in the critically acclaimed “Star Trek” version of Mozart's opera Abduction from the Seraglio with Alamo City Opera. In 2015, he was a featured soloist with Opera Piccola in their Opera vs Broadway production. Other notable performances include: Joe the Loiterer in The Mother of Us All, Don Ramiro in La Cenerentola, Elvino in La Sonambula, Count Almaviva in Barber of Seville, Nadir in The Pearl Fishers and Rodolfo in La Boheme. Mr. Birt made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2010 as the tenor soloist in Arwel Hughes’ Dewi Sant. He has sung with Chicago Opera Theatre, Battle Creek Symphony, Distinguished Concerts NewYork Carnegie Hall, Indianapolis Opera, The Atlantic Coast Opera Festival, Teatro di Comunale di Cagli, Teatro Grattacielo, South Texas Lyric Opera, San Antonio Opera, Lakeland Opera, Ashlawn Opera, Salt Marsh Opera, Opera Piccola, Sparkling City light opera, and Opera in the Heights.

AnthonEy Teague

Anthoney Teague is a songwriter, vocalist and producer based in the Texas Hill Country.  From performing in a country music opry house to touring Eastern Europe and performing for the Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2007, Anthoney’s vocal career has been robust and includes a wide array of genres. He recently released his first EP titled “Not Your Average Sunday” with background vocals by Elizabeth Rose.  The music video for “Not Your Average Sunday” will be released later this month.  Anthoney Teague also has a rich history in musical theater and starred alongside Elizabeth Rose in the world premier musical “For Such A Time As This” in 2022.  He would like to dedicate this performance to the families of the two men (Rich White & Tony Wallace) that were lost in the West Freeway Church of Christ shooting in 2019.

Daniel Wyman - Piano

Daniel Aaron Wyman is a multi-instrumentalist hailing from Anchorage, Alaska, who has performed internationally and throughout the United States.  He studied classical and jazz piano, as well as collaborative and chamber arts at Texas State University.  Daniel is an active musical director, arranger, and educator, and serves as a live/session keyboardist and bassist for multiple ensembles. These ensembles vary in genres to include classical, jazz, salsa, country, r&b, pop, reggae, funk, rock, etc.   Daniel has held multiple church organist positions over the years, and is currently an active sub/guest musician for multiple churches in the area. In addition to sacred and secular commercial music, he is an active accompanist/coach and chamber musician working with vocalists and instrumentalists ranging in experience from beginner to professional from elementary to University level.

Daniel’s other great passion in life is aviation. He balances his music career as an airline pilot for a legacy airline, and still flight-instructs and flys for fun regularly.

Frank Strazza - Cello

Frank Strazza has been a cellist for 30 years, and also plays mandolin, guitar, and upright bass. He has played with different symphony orchestras including the Symphony of the Hills in Kerrville, South Texas Symphonic Orchestra in San Antonio, as well as the Heritage choir and orchestra in Waco. He has played countless weddings and church functions, and currently plays in the band Filligree which a Folk/Americana band in San Antonio. Frank’s love and passion of music is also combined with his love of the craft of woodworking, having built violins. When Frank is not playing music he is building fine furniture and teaching woodworking at different venues across the country. More of his work can be found at www.strazzafurniture.com

 

Jey Ping - violin

Jey Ping began learning the violin as a young child from his father and has enjoyed playing ever since. Through high school and college, he studied with Yuly Ilyashov and trained through school and community music programs.  After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis, Jey continued to keep music a part of his life, teaching part time in schools and playing in community orchestras.
Jey now lives near Johnson City, TX and continues to study and play as many different styles of fiddling as he can get his hands on, drawing inspiration from fellow musicians at folk schools, shows, fiddle festivals, jam sessions, and dances. He regularly plays jazz shows at The Ragtime Oriole in Marble Falls, TX and plays 6-string fiddle in Country and Western bands in the hill country. He plays in community orchestras and is also the substitute organist for multiple churches in Blanco County.

Teri Secrest - FLute

Teri Secrest comes from a family of music lovers! Born and raised in Clear Lake, Iowa, just eight miles from where the Music Man was filmed, nearly everyone in town played an instrument.

Teri’s passion is piano and flute and she was the first chair flutist all through junior high and high school. For 23 years, Teri has hosted a Black Tie “Sing Around the Piano” at Christmas time and her goal is to bring joy to whomever attends!
